Amirah was founded in 2011 in response to the increased number of sex trafficking reports in massachusetts and the low availability of services or resources for adults who are trafficked in the state. Amirah exists to provide aftercare, resources, and opportunities to adult women who have experienced different forms of sexual exploitation, sex trafficking, and prostitution. Move for amirah is a national fundraising event in which individuals or teams move on behalf of survivors of trafficking and exploitation Recovering from trafficking and exploitation is hard, like swimming the english channel or running a marathon. The values of amirah provide a foundation for the community to heal and grow together Everyone at amirah, the staff, the women, and the volunteers, are all challenged to uphold these values and see themselves as a part of a learning and growing community. Amirah is honored to partner with churches & faith partners around new england and across the united states Amirah exists to provide exit and aftercare opportunities to women exiting the commercial sex trade Seeks to provide aftercare, resources, and outreach opportunities for women who have survived sexual exploitation, sex trafficking, and prostitution, we look for the church to be synonymous with justice and action.
