The sennheiser hd6xx was the first headphone that i purchased two years ago, and incidentally, the last one to date I bought it because i was a newbie, it was r/headphone ’s golden child, and i wanted to buy the “correct” headphone. 6xx does what it does well but i don't think it's what most people are looking for 560s sounds better for most music and is much better for soundstage and imaging if you ever need positional audio for games I would think these days it's more the 560s vs tygr 300r from beyerdynamic. Like all headphones in sennheiser’s hd 600 line, hd6xx too can be disassembled by hand to its component parts, all of which can be easily replaced Many of its parts are interchangeable with others in the series and owners of the hd 6xx can benefit from the rich aftermarket and brain trust of modifications and gear matching. The 6xx are essentially a niche headphone but for some reason get recommended everywhere you look in the audiophile community I know this is probably the case for every headphone ever but the list of things the 6xx is not particularly good at is just so much longer than the list of things it excels at I've gone through 3 different cables for my sennheiser hd6xx The first two massdrop replaced for free and then the 3rd one i bought from sennheiser direct All of them eventually fail right where the cable terminates to the 2.5mm trrs plugs I did some googling and see that people like peripat, but i'm not really prepared to pay $90 usd When i search for other cables newfantasia constantly. The sennheiser 6xx’s have been my main headphone for a while now I used them so much i had to replace the headband, of which was so visually worn that i felt ashamed for “neglecting” such a wonderful pair of cans Whilst replacing, i snapped the plastic on the headband, a rather handfisted accomplishment i know A place for discussion, news, reviews and diy projects related to portable audio, headphones, headphone amplifiers and dacs. Files used were almost exclusively flac, with a few songs played via spotify at 320kb/s if they weren't in my library. No they are not the same I blame z for this misinformation Sennheiser themselves say they are different Here's their official reply on the massdrop discussion page Though the hd 660 s and the hd 58x jubilee are both dynamic driver designs made from our specially developed plastic, the same impedance ratings, and constructed in the same ireland factory, they do not share a driver, and are.
